Youshin Gim
Composer
Youshin Gim started to gain several recognitions through his music and his musical activities, Since 2009-15 he was Alumni of Great Mountain Music Festival (대관령국제음악제) for Composition and Piano under a guidance of Hyo Kang and Pianist Soojung Shin, Composer Pagh Paan-Younghi. Since 2025 he began his contract as a composer and arranger for The Road of Classics.
After his study at Korea National Institute for Gifted in Arts and Korea National University of Arts, as well as his exchange study at University of Art Bremen, Germany began his further study at Spain with composer Ramon Lazkano. Later he moved to University of Music Carl Maria von Weber Dresden(Germany) with Mark Andre, Manos Tsangaris, Jason Thorpe Buchanan(Electronic) and Stefan Prins.
He served his first abroad internship program at Russia Ulan-Ude Theatre in 2014, enlarged his musical background through Synthetis Summer Academy (2018/2023), St. Petersburg International Festival (2019), Valencia Int. Performance & Academy (2019/2022), ISCM Pan Music Festival (2020), Slovenia Composer Society Recital (2020). One of his chamber work selected for Tongyeong Int. Music Festival Academy in 2024 by director Unsuk Chin. He received commission from Poznańska Wiosna Muzyczna 2025, one of the important polish contemporary music festival, also Warsaw Book Fair 2025 from Korean Culture Centre.
He continuing his musical activities through also prestigious musicians such as Arturo Tamayo, Pierre-André Valade, Klangforum Wien, Emmanuelle Ophèle(Ensemble Intercontemporain), Spółdzielnia Muzyczna Contemporary Ensemble, Ensemble E-MEX, Mivos Quartet, Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra, Omsk Symphony Orchestra, Hashtag Ensemble, Poznan Philharmonic, Syntagma Piano Duo, SONOR XXI Ensemble. Youshin took his residency at SONOR XXI Ensemble at Republic of Korea from 2018 to 2023.
Youshin is also pianist for contemporary music, gave his first Russian recital at Omsk(Russia) with <Vingt regards sur l’enfant-Jésus (1-10)> and also pianist at Atelier Neue Musik Bremen (University of Arts Bremen) from 2018 to 2019 and SONOR XXI Ensemble from 2015-2023. Youshin invited as a guest artist at Contemporary Art Music Project, Tampa(USA) by director Eunmi Ko to give lecture and perform his chamber work as a part of <Gut> series in 2022. His chamber work <Yong-Seon> released on CD under the title <12 views on life>.
